Famed NYC graffiti artist, Futura, and creative collective, AllRightsReserved, are continuing their partnership with the unveiling of their latest creation: the AV-001L (Light) stainless steel sculpture. This new iteration of Futura’s iconic Pointman character seamlessly blends elements of light into its design, showcasing a striking red visor section and light blue accents on the ears, arms, torso, and waist.

This release serves as a precursor to the highly-anticipated Futuraland Part II exhibition, a follow-up to Futura’s 2021 Hong Kong exhibition which featured a large-scale installation of life-size stainless steel “aliens” and a rocket ship. This exhibition promises to showcase the cutting-edge of Futura’s artistic vision.
It’s been 25 years since the Pointman character made its debut on the cover of UNKLE’s debut album Psyence Fiction. Thus, it’s fitting that, a quarter-century later, one of the most refined Pointman figures to date has been created. Dubbed the AV-001L and limited to only 75 units, the statue boasts a high-gloss stainless steel body with two types of mesmerizing light-up details. The first of these are bright white abstract lines that ripple across the body and arms like lightning and appear in swirling patterns on the sides of the visage. The visage also features a glowing red strip that serves as its eyes. The AV-001L stands at just under a foot and a half tall, seven and a half inches wide, and nearly five inches deep at its thickest point.
While the AV-001L is the first Pointman figure of 2023, the character has been highly active in recent months. Futura collaborated with Potato Head to create Pointman statues as a commentary on plastic pollution, worked with Avant Arte to build it in Carrara marble, and reworked it into an incense chamber as part of a “HOMESPRAY” capsule with NEIGHBORHOOD.
